Release Day and info for my fellow author…Sabrina Rawson!

Standard

Hey Folks!

Passing along some info about a wonderful author, Sabrina Rawson. I’m hoping y’all will give her a look over and check out her books. Here’s the links and info:

About the Author

Although Sabrina Rawson had been physically writing for two years the ideas that conceived her first novel had been percolating in her mind for many years. In many ways she found life experiences had influenced her story although written in fantasy format.

Nelson Mandela’s words inspired her: “There is no passion to be found playing small – in settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living.”

No truer words could have been said. After her first cancer battle four years ago, she was in the mindset to survive, get back to my swing of things. Problem was she couldn’t. She wasn’t the same person anymore. She relapsed by the end of the first year. She survived that experience exhausted and has had multiple tumors pop up ever since. To say her health presented a mental and physical challenge was putting it mildly. She wanted to be more, do more, and was determined to reinvent herself along the way.

What she left behind after that first surgery, was her passion for life. Cancer didn’t take that away, she put buried it along with her drive and ambition. Her creative muse happily skipped right along with the rest of her dreams leaving her disconnected. She had to rediscover herself and it was a slow personal process. Four years post her first surgery and even if she had to do it all over again tomorrow, so what! She refused to settle for a life less than what she could create for herself.

Sabrina has published works with Survivor’s Review Online Magazine and Titan InKorp Online eMag. She published the first novel within a New Adult Urban Fantasy Romance called A Novel of Four Realms, titled Briksanna’s Sacrifice. Book two within the series is due to publish this fall titled Katerina’s Hope with book three scheduled to release early 2015 titled Gabriella’s Promise.

Sabrina lives in Sonoma County heart of the wine country of California enjoying life in the rural land happily married to a wonderful supportive husband. You can always find her reading a book or cooking a meal for her multitude of children.

Hope you all give Sabrina support and encouragement as well as dive into a great new genre of stories!

Until next time, be well, read much and enjoy every day as it comes!

Electric Water Heaters and Lightning do not mix

Standard

Yep, we’ve had a couple of storms within the past two weeks, and during the most recent one my water heater got tagged and fried. I also had a bolt shoot through the cat room a/c unit – felt a burst of hot air all of a sudden and turned just in time to see the bright flash as the lightning came through the front of the fan and dissipated before it got to me or any of the kitties. Luckily, the unit has a surge protector built in and surprisingly, the darn thing still works! The thunder that came immediately after shook the whole room! I thought it was awesome! Unfortunately, the water heater did not fare as well. *Sigh* The darn thing was only six years old, to boot!  Well, off to Lowe’s, Best Buy and anywhere else to price a new one!

In the meantime, dear friends, be well, read a lot and will keep you posted on the newest ‘offerings’ for this Halloween season! 😉

Fall and Halloween! What a combo!

Standard

Well, the cooler weather has hit and I’m lovin’ it!  Fall is one of my favorite seasons, the other being Spring, so I am thrilled that Mother Nature seems to be turning towards my ‘time’. Fall also ushers in Halloween, my favorite holiday and I love decorating for that night! I have a haunted village which I have been collecting and adding to for the past twenty five years – suckers’ big enough now that I have to use a Ping-Pong table to get all of my pieces set out! 😉

And now for even greater news; JEA Press along with Sam Gregory concocted a Halloween anthology which will be coming out soon! the title is: Autumn Burning: Dreadtime Stories for the Wicked Soul – they are shooting for its release by/before Halloween! Look for it on Amazon.com – yours truly has a little ‘treat’ included amongst all the other tricks!   As soon as I can find the book cover (it’s my crappy computer skills that’s at fault here!) I will post it so that you all can have a ‘taste’ of what’s to come!

In the meantime, I am working on getting my anthology, “Horrors & Occupational Hazards” ready to go to press! Final edits are being done and stories are being sent to the wonderful Susan Simone (JEA Press) for compilation and the very talented Velma Giggle Wink is ‘gussying up’ the book cover! Will let you all know when it’s available as well!

In the meantime my friends, happy reading to you all!
