A few words about J Ellington Ashton Press!

Standard
J Ellington Ashton Press began in 1950 (catt dahman’s father wrote under that name) and was brought from retirement in 2013.We are traditional and we are a horror-oriented press. We allow JEA authors to show releases, conventions, awards, and much more. We do grant permission for a few friends (from other presses or those who are Indie) to post here as well but only after written permission is given. We have many readers, fans, and friends in the publishing world and we allow them to be active here. We are a press and also own and operate a blog cast- Wicked Little Things- (Humor, writing, movies, horror, radio personalities, entertainment) for free publicity for anyone who is interested. Two five-star reviews for the charity antho, 8 Deadly Kisses, which my story, The Black Cat, is in! Check it out, and if you decide to pick it up, don’t forget to leave a review after! This helps all of us authors out, as well as spreading the word on the charity, CAMFED, which the proceeds for this anthology will go to!
Have a great rest of the week, and enjoy! 🙂

What better book to read than Eight Deadly Kisses, an anthology from Dark Chapter Press during the month of February. As you know, February has been dubbed Women in Horror Month and this collection of eight short stories by eight female authors is killer! Each with their own unique style and each with a strong female protagonist.

Night Terrors by Audrey E.L. Coots is a creepy read involving sleep or lack of, as the case may be. I’m sure everyone at one time or another has felt a sensation of being touched while drifting off to sleep. We usually chalk it up to being overtired, overworked, but what if there’s more to it? What if there is malice hidden within the touch, what if…

Alice J. Black gives us Soul Seekers. Peyton and Olivia are in the business of ridding homes and businesses of ghosts. No job is too small until she comes face to face with something other than that misplaced soul looking for the other side.

Chloe’s been looking for that perfect date but so far no one has panned out. After seeing an ad for Soul Mate, she thinks just maybe this could be her answer. Aah, but I think Fiona Dodwell’s The Dead Season will soon dispel the notion of finding one’s soul mate.

Marion is a quaint little tale of memories or perhaps I should say the lack of… I’ll let Erica Chin tell you about this one.

Veronica Smith’s Commuting is a vicious little story. Tamar has just been car-jacked, she must use her wits to get out of this mess. But, when a good Samaritan tries to intervene on her behalf, we learn that not all good deeds are rewarded.

The Black Cat, by Sharon Higa, is a story of survival. A high seas fantasy of pirates, magic, and a girl who will show all who’s boss.

Late Lunch, now this is a nasty little tale penned by C.A. Viruet. Just be careful before ordering the lunch special and by all means don’t believe those Yelp! reviews!

Mara Jade Smith is being stalked. Living in fear until one day she snaps, no longer willing to be a victim, she’s ready to do a little stalking of her own. Prick by DA Chaney shows what happens when you push someone too far.

Altogether quite a nice collection of stories and all for a good cause. All the authors are to be applauded for giving up their payment in order to make this happen. Do check out the forward by Jack Rollins to learn more about this charity and the afterword by David Basnett, the editors of this fine collection.
